Josh Krajcik was 30 and from Columbus, Ohio when he reached bootcamp on The X Factor USA. He was making burritos for a living and playing to empty nightclubs, and he told the judges he did not want to go back to that life.
He chose Kelly Clarkson’s Up to the Mountain. His gravelly, soulful voice started softly and slowly climbed, and every line sounded like a man fighting for his future. 
The room went quiet as he sang, and the judges listened closely to every word. He had told them he wanted them to remember this performance forever, and he poured everything he had into it.
This bootcamp moment showed why Josh would go on to become one of the most unforgettable finalists of the competition.
