No Drums, No Guitars, Just Four Mouths: Crew 82 Gave the BGT Judges a Sound They Never Expected

The Britain's Got Talent judges watching Crew 82

When four young men from Leeds walked out and introduced themselves as Crew 82, the Britain’s Got Talent judges had no idea what was coming. They admitted they were a nervous little crowd, and explained that their whole act was making music with their mouths.

There were no instruments and no backing track, only four microphones. Then the sound started: a deep bass line, sharp drum beats and layers of melody, all coming from their voices at the same time. It sounded like a full band was hidden somewhere on stage. 🎶

The judges were stunned. One admitted that halfway through they forgot the noise was coming from the boys at all, and another simply called it genius. Piers Morgan said that back in his newspaper days, finding a fresh act like this was exactly what he lived for.

When it was Simon Cowell’s turn, he said it was a 100 percent yes, and Crew 82 went through to the next round with three big smiles from the panel. ❤️
