Dominic Smith was just 14 when he stepped onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage in Birmingham with his dad watching nervously from the wings. He told the judges he had been singing for nearly four years and that he could have a good whack at winning.
Then he sang Unchained Melody, one of the most famous love songs ever written. His voice was rich and steady, and he told the story of every line in a way that made the room fall silent. 🎶
The judges were blown away. One said the audition had restored their faith after a long day of tough acts, and another said it felt like Dominic had told the story of the song word by word. Simon Cowell said he had heard that song countless times, but he thought Dominic was amazing.
Dominic went through to the next round and later said Simon’s compliments were the best part of all. ❤️
