Vinnie McKee is 29, from Glasgow, and has worked as a holiday park entertainer since he was 18. He has called bingo, hosted game shows and sung in the evenings, sometimes to one table and sometimes to ten. He came to Britain’s Got Talent with his mum, dad and sister.
He chose The Proclaimers’ I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), but instead of the usual singalong, Vinnie slowed it down and turned it into a powerful ballad. The theatre listened in silence before erupting at the end. 🎤
One judge said she could feel him fighting to prove himself through the whole audition. Another admitted they were speechless and asked if he had trained as a singer. Vinnie said no, he had simply sung since he was young.
Then came the big moment. Simon pressed his Golden Buzzer and sent the bingo caller straight through to the semi-finals. ✨
