Two twin sisters spent years practicing for the Clog Dancing Grand Championship. When the day finally came, their dance was so perfectly synchronized and well choreographed – they not only came in first place, but their performance went viral!

You can find talented dancers from street, Morris, tap, and ballroom dance online. However, there are still some videos that will surprise you, and the performance by Lauren and Kaylee Thomas is definitely one of them. They are championship-winning clog dancers. For those who are unclear, Ridge Runner Cloggers provides the following definition of clogging:

“The dancer wears shoes with special taps attached in this high-energy percussion-based dance style.” Watch Lauren and Kaylee perform if you’re unfamiliar to the popular sport of clog dancing. The video below was filmed at the 2016 Clogging Champions of America Showdown of Champions.

The film concentrates on the modern component of the tournament, even though the girls also took part in the traditional part. In this duet dance off, the two women are incredible!

Kaylee is two years older than Lauren, despite the fact that they look like twins. Because they are both blonde, cute, and perform in the same outfit, it’s easy to make a mistake. Another resemblance between them is that their feet move like lightning!

At the beginning of the video, six pairs are lined up on stage for the dance-off. Lauren and Kaylee look their most stylish when they’re dressed in black tops and glittering slacks. You can’t help but notice Lauren and Kaylee, even though there are other couples dancing. They are in perfect harmony throughout their entire performance. They kick, spin, and perform complex arm twists together. Their routine is mind-blowing, and their enthusiasm is absolutely amazing.

The fact that the women have previously competed won’t surprise you. They have won fifteen national championships! Despite their early beginnings, they don’t seem old enough to have won so often. Kaylee was five years old when she started clogging, and Lauren was three. Berea, Kentucky, is where they were born.

They soon proved their abilities and gained the necessary skills to compete. After winning every local competition, they swiftly made it to the national championships. Although clog dancing is practiced in many other countries, it is only practiced in the United States, therefore we will regrettably not be able to witness the girls competing overseas. However, the girls do need some leisure and education in addition to their labor, so this could prove beneficial.

Along with competitions, the girls appeared on a Nickelodeon show called Figure It Out and an updated version of The Gong Show. It’s quite a career for two sisters who grew up mostly as children. Although many siblings wouldn’t get along well enough to train together for so long, Lauren and Kaylee’s deep sisterhood and love of dancing make up for any disagreements.

Their common dance experience will surely keep them close even though it is likely that their lives may slightly change as they get older. If you haven’t seen enough of the talented duo yet, watch them perform a Greatest Showman medley.
