When Owen Stuart’s family moved from Buffalo to Charlotte, the 16-year-old had to leave his girlfriend Tori behind. He brought that feeling with him to The X Factor USA and even talked about an album idea called “The Fallout.”
Just before he started, he said, “This one’s for Tori.” His version of “Airplanes” was calm and sincere, and the room listened closely as he sang. 🎶
Not everyone was convinced. Britney Spears said it did not wow her and voted no. Demi Lovato called it romantic yet cool, and L.A. Reid said yes because Owen was so focused and committed.
Simon Cowell gave the deciding yes, and Owen went through with three votes. Sometimes the person you miss most is what gives a song its heart. ❤️
