The Boy Who Got Chased by a Butt
It began like any normal Saturday morning in a quiet little neighborhood where nothing unusual ever seemed to happen. The sun was out, birds were chirping, and a boy named Tommy was riding his small red bike down the street without a care in the world. Everything looked peaceful… at least for the moment.
But exactly three minutes later, the strangest chase the town had ever seen was about to begin.
Tommy had stopped near the park to tie his shoelace when he heard a weird sound behind him.
Plop… plop… plop.
He slowly turned around.
At first he thought he was imagining things. Because hopping down the sidewalk toward him was something that made absolutely no sense at all.
It was… a butt.
A real one.
Moving.
And somehow… it looked like it was chasing him.
Tommy blinked twice.
“Nope,” he muttered. “That is definitely a butt.”
In cartoons, silly situations like this are meant to make people laugh. But Tommy wasn’t laughing at all — because the thing was getting closer.
“WHY IS THAT RUNNING?!” he yelled.
The butt bounced faster.
Plop! Plop! Plop!
Tommy jumped on his bike and pedaled as fast as he could. Behind him, the butt rolled and bounced like an athlete determined to win a race.
People on the street froze in confusion.
A woman walking her dog dropped her coffee.
A man watering his lawn forgot to turn off the hose.
Even the dog looked impressed.
Tommy sped through the park, flying past swings, trees, and very confused pigeons.
“WHY IS IT AFTER ME?!” he shouted.
The butt didn’t answer.
It just kept coming.
Closer. Faster. More determined.
Kids on the playground started cheering.
“RUN!” one of them yelled.
“THE BUTT IS CATCHING UP!”
Tommy turned down Maple Street.
The butt followed.
He zigzagged between parked cars.
The butt bounced between them like a rubber ball.
He ran through a bakery.
The butt rolled straight through a tray of donuts.
Now it smelled like sugar.
Tommy burst out the back door and kept running.
“I cannot believe this is happening to me!” he shouted.

By now half the town was watching.
Phones came out.
Someone yelled, “THIS IS GOING ONLINE!”
But Tommy didn’t care about videos.
He just wanted the chase to end.
He ran toward the hill behind the park.
“If I make it to the top,” he thought, “maybe I can lose it.”
Up the hill he ran.
Up the hill the butt bounced.
Step by step.
Bounce by bounce.
The crowd gathered below.
“This is it!” someone shouted.
“The final round!”
Tommy reached the top first.
He turned around.
The butt bounced up beside him… and stopped.
For a moment, everything went quiet.
Tommy took a deep breath.
“Okay,” he said seriously. “Why are you chasing me?”
The butt stopped moving.
It looked… tired.
Then, in the tiniest voice, it said:
“…I think I lost my owner.”
Tommy blinked.
“You lost your owner?”
The butt nodded sadly.
Tommy thought for a second.
“Well… why didn’t you just ask someone for help?”
The butt looked down.
“I don’t have a mouth.”
Tommy sighed.
“…Fair point.”
Just then, a man came running up the hill, completely out of breath.
“HAS ANYONE SEEN MY BUTT?!” he shouted.
Everyone pointed.
The man gasped with relief.
“Oh thank goodness,” he said, picking it up. “It wandered off again.”
Tommy stared.
The crowd stared.
Nobody asked any questions.
Sometimes it’s better that way.
The man walked off happily with his runaway butt.
The crowd slowly went home.
And Tommy?
Tommy picked up his bike, looked at the empty street, and said the wisest thing anyone said all day:
“I’m never going outside again.”
