A Closer Look at Taylor Swift’s Stunning and Meaningful Engagement Ring, Personally Designed by Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift’s engagement ring from Travis Kelce looks like something straight out of a true love story.

The couple, who began dating in 2023, shared the happy news of their engagement on Instagram on August 26, posting romantic photos from the proposal — including a close look at the breathtaking ring that immediately caught fans’ attention.

The 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star worked with jewelry designer Kindred Lubeck and Artifex Fine Jewelry, known for luxury pieces that can cost tens of thousands of dollars, to create the ring. The design features a large old-mine brilliant-cut diamond with a rectangular antique-inspired style, making the piece both classic and deeply personal. Kelce was personally involved in the design, making the ring even more meaningful.

For the proposal, which took place in a beautiful setting surrounded by flowers, Swift, also 35, wore a $398 pinstripe halter dress by Polo Ralph Lauren. She paired the look with gold accessories, including a FoundRae custom ear hoop, a Tiffany & Co. ring, and a Cartier watch, along with tan sandal heels. Her makeup stayed true to her signature style, with a soft coral-pink version of her famous red lipstick.

The couple first went public with their relationship in October 2023, when they were seen holding hands at a Saturday Night Live after-party. A month earlier, Swift had attended one of Kelce’s football games to support him and the Kansas City Chiefs, sparking rumors that quickly turned into one of the most talked-about celebrity relationships.

During an appearance on the New Heights podcast, they shared how their story began. Kelce had tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it — a gesture that fans loved for its simplicity and humor.

Swift joked that many people, including Chiefs head coach Andy Reid — a longtime friend of her father Scott — had encouraged her to give Kelce a chance.

She even compared his effort to win her over to something from an ’80s romantic movie.

“It felt like one of those John Hughes films,” she said, laughing. “Like he was outside my window with a boombox saying, ‘I want to date you! I made you a friendship bracelet!’ ”

More recently, Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, spoke openly about how happy his son has been since the relationship began. While attending a premiere in Kansas City, he didn’t hesitate when asked what brought Travis the most joy.

“Taylor,” he said. “There’s no question about it.”
