Judges Expected a Ballad, but Got a Song About Chicken Nuggets!

Doncaster native Andrew Hindson, a 30-year-old father of three, just made his stage debut on Britain’s Got Talent 2025 with a performance that touched parents everywhere. Even though it was Andrew’s first public performance, he seemed incredibly at ease as he explained why he was there: to support his family, especially his six-week-old son. He claimed to sing a song he made especially for his kids before going to bed each night.

Andrew gave a brutally honest and humorous song about the challenges of having small children instead of the emotional ballad the judges were hoping for. He discussed everything from “soiled underpants” to tantrums to the never-ending argument over chicken nuggets for supper in his lyrics. He made a joke about how being a dad had made him older than he should be and revealed a humorously frantic wish to go back to work just to get some time off. When he sang about wanting to “push them back in” and his plans to have a vasectomy, the judges and crowd were in stitches.

The judges were gushing about Andrew’s easygoing demeanor and natural stage presence. Despite not being a father to three, Alesha Dixon praised his brilliant writing and said that she found the lyrics to be very relevant. Although it may not be the “best song” musically, Simon Cowell acknowledged that Andrew’s candor and humorous timing were what made the performance effective. Amanda Holden highlighted his potential as a humorous performer by comparing his manner to that of an early Peter Kay. Andrew Hindson demonstrated that sometimes the most relatable anecdotes result in a standing ovation with four impassioned “Yes” votes.
