A Young Doctor Sang Stevie Wonder for the AGT Judges, and His Audition Became a Farewell

Dr. Brandon Rogers

Dr. Brandon Rogers was 29, a family medicine doctor from Portsmouth, Virginia. He told the America’s Got Talent judges he was nervous, admitted that he sometimes sings to his patients and smiled when they said he might be the first doctor on the show.

Then he sang Stevie Wonder’s “Ribbon in the Sky”. His voice was smooth and full of feeling, and the audience was cheering long before the last note 🎶

Heidi said the doctor can really sing, and Mel B listed his looks, his voice and the fact that he helps people as reasons to love him. Howie praised his control and passion, and Simon called his vocal stunning and one of the best things in the competition so far. All four judges said yes.

Sadly, Brandon died in a car accident on June 11, before the audition was shown. At his family’s request, the show aired it to honor him, so the world could finally hear the voice his patients already knew ❤️
