The groom canceled the wedding after learning why the dog had suddenly bitten the bride’s hand
The day was intended to be perfect, complete with flowers, music, well-dressed guests, and the bride’s stunning white gown. Standing by his loyal dog, Roy, whom he had trained to accompany him everywhere, the groom seemed happy. Because Roy was a devoted friend and a calm, gentle dog, the owner even considered him a member of his family.
But it was clear that the bride didn’t like Roy. She flinched as the dog came near, screamed that he “smelled like dog,” and demanded that he be removed. The husband tried to defuse the issue by saying Roy wouldn’t ruin the celebrations, but the bride refused to back down.
Throughout the ceremony, the bride grew more combative, scolding the groom’s mother, mocking a guest’s present, and then starting to consume excessive amounts of champagne. The groom was embarrassed by her behavior, but he made an effort to hide it because the day was so beautiful.
But then something unexpected happened. The dog, who was calm and kind, suddenly bit the bride’s hand. The groom intervened when the bride yelled and lunged for a bottle to hit the dog. After figuring out why the dog had bitten her, he simply called off the wedding.
The highlight was when Roy stood silently next to his master. Gazing straight into the groom’s eyes, the bride approached the dog and deliberately tread on Roy’s tail. The dog bit the bride’s hand and screamed in self-defense. Everyone went cold.
The bride screamed in agony, grabbed a bottle from the table, and prepared to hit the dog.
“Don’t touch my dog; you provoked him yourself,” shot back the groom.
“I stepped on his tail by mistake!” the bride exclaimed, her face twisted in anger.
“Inadvertently?” The bridegroom looked straight at her. “Did you also plan to hit him with the bottle by accident?”
The bride, stunned, tried to protect herself:
“I didn’t know what I was doing, and my hand hurt.” It was all shock.
Roy crouched by the groom, trembling and putting his ears back.
“What’s so shocking?” He spoke coldly. “Do you regularly hit those who are less powerful than you?”
The bride stood with her injured hand, unable to speak.
The bridegroom stood up and said steadily:
“There will not be a wedding.”
He offered Roy a firm embrace as the guests, still in awe, silently stared at each other. Roy kissed his hand as if appreciating the protection.
Do you think the bridegroom made the right choice?
