Birds immediately encircled the plane, shocking everyone and forcing the pilots to make an emergency landing.
Everybody has life events that change the way they see the world forever. I’ve been a pilot for many years, and the sky has always been my home. But one day, during what seemed to be an ordinary flight, something happened that I will never forget. Not just me, but everyone on board at the moment was rattled by this happened.
As the sky cleared, we set off with a full cabin and a hopeful prediction. No signs of issues. Everything was going according to plan.
Suddenly, I noticed a strange activity outside the window. A handful of birds were flying dangerously near the plane. I tensed up, but I hadn’t yet considered it. A minute later, however, there were more. Dozens. Hundreds. Thousands! They encircled the plane in a dense ring, preventing it from moving freely.
I tried to change our course, but the birds followed, apparently thinking they would trap the plane. The passengers screamed in fear as they saw the feathered mass thudding against the window.
I went to the nearest airport after asking air traffic control for permission to change my route in an emergency. The flock, however, would not let us go. On the other hand, the birds were much more aggressive, and some of them even hit the fuselage itself.
The worst happened next: a large bird struck the engine head-on. There was an explosion, flames flared, and the engine failed. It was becoming harder and harder to control the plane.
At that moment, I realized that the only option to save the victims’ lives was to ditch in the water. Only after the emergency landing did specialists inspect the aircraft and determine the cause of the birds’ peculiar behavior.
We crashed violently and forcefully into the ocean, yet the plane stayed upright. The extremely difficult evacuation left many passengers in shock, but thankfully no one was seriously injured.
Rescuers and the Coast Guard drove the flock away and saved the lives of the people when they arrived to help.
The next day the investigation began. The investigators examined every aspect of the aircraft until they reached the cargo compartment.
There, they found several strange containers. They included exotic and uncommon birds that were being smuggled, which shocked the experts.
The containers were destroyed during the voyage, and when the birds began to make distress sounds, there was a wild flock outside. Because of their natural instinct to defend their fellow birds, a whole army of feathered protectors surrounded the plane.
