People were horrified to find out why a baby elephant had gone onto the road, stood on its hind legs and flapping its ears before flinging itself in front of cars.
In the middle of a rural road, where the asphalt had already begun to crack from age, a small elephant suddenly materialized. Unsteady-legged, it stepped out onto the street and waved its trunk nervously, as if to communicate.

Startled and frightened, drivers swerved or braked hard, but no one dared approach. Some believed the animal had escaped from a circus, while others thought it was too dangerous to step in.

The only driver who dared to stop and get out of the car was an elderly man in an old-fashioned SUV. He approached slowly, keeping his hands up so as not to frighten the animal.
But there was no evidence of dread in the elephant baby. It instead turned and began to gallop toward the edge of the forest, checking to see if the guy was still in pursuit.
The man heard muted moaning about two hundred meters later. Behind the plants was a leaf-covered trench where a huge female elephant lay.
Her leg became caught in an old metal trap. The blood had already dried the grass. The calf approached her and pushed her side with its trunk as if to say, “I brought help.”
A lump formed in the man’s throat. He quickly called passing automobiles, veterinarians, and wildlife organizations in the area to request help. After the rescue team arrived and liberated the mother, her health stabilized. She was not hurt.
The tale quickly went viral online. In addition to the tragedy, people were moved by the child’s love and intelligence, which enabled him to request help without speaking.
