Actress Camille Winbush of “Bernie Mac Show” sends critics on a job hunt after getting criticism from “OnlyFans.”
The former actress joined the controversial internet subscription service in 2021.
Camille Winbush, who gained notoriety for her participation on the Bernie Mac Show, is adamant about her decision to join the subscription service OnlyFans.
In response to the criticism, the 34-year-old actress wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, June 13: “I’m fine guys, don’t worry.” I don’t expect anyone to understand or feel sorry for my life choices. But attacking me and my family is unnecessary and unacceptable, and I will tackle it when I see it.
Instead, she counseled the critic to “invest that energy into finding me the 9-5 job y’all so desperately want me to have.”
This piece follows her interview with Comedy Hype News on June 7. She discussed the negative social media response to her 2021 OnlyFans announcement.
“There is no place for people who are not in the acting industry to talk about it,” the California native told the website.
“When people assume that Bernard Mac must no longer send checks, “From a job when I was twelve years old, twenty years ago?” I ask myself. Indeed. Like, naturally.
Winbush explained that while she still gets residual payments, they are decreasing every year. “You’re not making as much per episode as you did when the show was current,” she continued. “Twenty years later, those checks are no longer viable for a living.”
“If I can find a way to make enough money to buy a house, why wouldn’t I do that from the safety and comfort of my own living room?” she asked.
Last year, Winbush defended her co-star Dee Dee Davis against similar criticism for having an OnlyFans account on the “Bernie Mac Show.”
“I’ve never been arrested, I’ve never used drugs, I don’t have any baby daddies, I pay all my taxes, I drink water, and I mind the business that pays me,” Winbush tweeted at the time, indicating that the trolls were once again hungry.
