Taylor Swift recently received accolades from Andy Reid, the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, for her ability to handle public scrutiny.
Swift, who has been a staunch supporter of her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, had some backlash from fans during the 2025 Super Bowl.
Earlier this month, Swift cheered on the Chiefs as they tried to pull off a historic three-peat at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome. However, their hopes were dashed as the Philadelphia Eagles put on a spectacular display to win the championship.
When Swift appeared on the stadium’s big screen, some fans sent out a loud jeer to show their disapproval.
Despite the mixed response, Reid just expressed his adoration for the musical sensation. Speaking at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, he referred to Swift as a “good girl” and praised her for managing the limelight in the right way.

Andy Reid makes the case for Swift’s visibility in the NFL.
“She’s a good girl,” Reid told Pro Football Talk. She appropriately handles the problem. It’s a challenging transaction. She does a great job with it.
Reid also took a moment to commend Kelce for managing the heightened media attention that surrounds his relationship with Swift. “I think Kelce handles it really well,” the coach continued.
While admitting that keeping tabs on players’ loved ones is nothing new in professional sports, Reid emphasized that Swift is just as much a part of the Chiefs’ extended family as any significant others.
Like the other wives and girlfriends, she is part of the team. “And that’s all a part of the process,” Reid explained.

Super Bowl Repercussions and Kelce’s Uncertain Future
Swift was not the only one subjected to jeering at the Super Bowl; the Chiefs players encountered an antagonistic reception from what appeared to be a pro-Eagles crowd as they emerged from the tunnel.
Following the Super Bowl loss, Swift and Kelce have largely kept a low profile. On February 18, Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce, hosts of the New Heights podcast, announced a brief break from their regular episode schedule.

“There isn’t a new episode this week, but we will return soon with offseason episodes featuring incredible guests,” the podcast’s official account wrote on social media.
In the interim, speculation about Kelce’s possible return for another NFL season has grown. The 34-year-old tight end, who will turn 36 in October, has been open about considering retirement. In a recent New Heights episode, Kelce admitted that he is still thinking over his options and that he is “kicking every can I can down the road.”
Reid revealed that he had urged Kelce to take a vacation from football before deciding on his future.
“I told him to leave.” Don’t think about all of that. Just relax, man. “Calm down, and then we got time for that,” Reid said during the combine. “He and I talk often, but I am aware that there is a deadline. I’ll ask him to inform me, then.
