Not unexpectedly, Scotty McCreery is introducing George Strait’s music to his 2-and-a-half-year-old child right away.
Because McCreery loves The King so much, he penned a whole song called “Damn Strait” in his honor.
But rather than merely listening to Strait’s songs, it seems that young Avery wants to try performing them herself.
In a sweet new video that looks like it was produced in a studio, McCreery and his son are heard off-camera paying tribute to the King of Country. You can hear Avery’s cute little voice as he sings a line from Strait’s 1985 hit song “The Chair,” and it’s a fairly great rendition, to be honest.
“Who sings that song?” McCreery asks his son his question.
“George Strait,” the young child confidently responds.
The father-son duo cannot be seen directly in the clip since the camera is pointed at a pane of glass. However, it looks like McCreery is standing in front of a studio microphone with Avery in his arms based on their images that are mirrored in the glass.
Without a doubt, Avery is a musical kid. He has been performing on stage with his father, a country music icon, since he was a baby. For their son’s second birthday last October, McCreery and his wife Gabi gave him a toy drum set.
It’s unclear if they were in the studio for a music session or simply to spend time with their family, but who can tell? In the future, McCreery and his talented child might perform a duet in a studio.
