Following the tragic loss of an 18-year-old high school student who collapsed during her graduation ceremony, a village is in mourning. Eleven years after receiving a transplant, 18-year-old Sienna Stewart was tragically diagnosed with heart failure in April.
Since she was four years old, Sienna has suffered from severe cardiomyopathy, and she started “getting sick” early this year. She apparently enjoyed a “relatively normal life for 10 years” following the aforementioned transplant, but then she began “getting weak and slowing down.” While graduating on Thursday, May 23, 2024, mother Saevon Chum disclosed that her daughter occasionally fainted.

The principal is seen yelling, “Please give us a second, we have a student, just give us a second,” in a video that Hiram High School supplied. Saevon saw paramedics tending to her daughter when she got there.
The mother recalled, “When I arrived, the ambulance was already there.” She had passed out. It had been another ordeal for her. But this was the first time she had fainted.
Sienna regained consciousness a few minutes later and chose to go to her ceremony rather than the hospital. All she could say to me was, “I just want to walk and graduate.” Saevon stated that since she had already missed her prom due to her hospital stay, that was all she wanted. Unfortunately, a few weeks after getting her diploma, on June 12, Sienna passed away.
You are really proud of her as a mother for enduring a challenging circumstance. You must be proud. Saevon said, “I was proud the entire time.
According to her obituary, Sienna was going to college in the fall to study ultrasound technology.
