He ate 700 eggs in one month: Here’s what happened to his body

Fad diets and strict dietary requirements seem to be very fashionable at the moment.

Most people have a specific goal in mind when they decide to drastically alter their eating habits. They might be doing it to improve their lifestyle, gain or lose weight, or just because their current diet does not align with their values.

It’s reasonable to suppose that most of us have already made the decision to cut out particular foods from our diets. I don’t think many of us have ever faced a struggle like that of a man named Dr. Nick Norwitz.

According to his website, Dr. Norwitz is a researcher and presenter who wants to “Make Metabolic Health Mainstream.” He decided to consume 700 eggs in a month to see how his body would respond, and he just became well-known online thanks to his YouTube channel, where he documented his experience.

Indeed, precisely. Seven hundred eggs! In case you were curious, that equates to two cartons of eggs per day for 30 days. Or, as the doctor advises, one egg every hour. We can all probably agree that it’s a difficult task that should not be taken lightly.

To reach the required levels, Dr. Norwitz needed to consume an incredible 24 eggs every day. Why did he decide to adhere to a diet that most of us would consider challenging and extreme? He wanted to prove that eating so many high-cholesterol eggs wouldn’t significantly alter his LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol levels.

You have undoubtedly heard of cholesterol, which is almost always believed to be detrimental to the heart when it remains elevated.

When we were kids, we were taught that consuming foods high in cholesterol was definitely unhealthy and that it would set one up for serious issues later in life.

24 eggs a day

Of course, the consensus among health professionals evolves with the times. Some people now argue that cholesterol isn’t as bad as it used to be. Since I’m not a doctor, I won’t sit here and tell you that eating 24 eggs a day is acceptable, but to give Dr. Norwitz credit, his experiment yielded some interesting findings.

The excellent doctor’s YouTube channel claims that despite eating an astounding 720 eggs in a single month, his cholesterol levels did not increase as expected.

He claimed to have witnessed the exact opposite, with his LDL cholesterol readings both staying steady and progressively dropping. In the first two weeks, Dr. Norwitz’s LDL cholesterol dropped by 2%, but in the next two weeks, it dropped by 18%.

Dr. Norwitz, who examined the science behind the results, said that when he increased his intake of carbs, his LDL levels appeared to stabilize. He added that the liver’s ability to control the production of cholesterol is influenced by what is consumed.

He stated, “The extra dose of carbohydrates dominated over the insane amounts of cholesterol I was consuming,” according to the New York Post.

The previously documented dramatic drop was then brought on by Norwitz eating fruits including blueberries, bananas, and strawberries during the final two weeks of his study.
