Megyn Kelly has “destroyed” Robert De Niro’s comments against the American people. She discussed the potential consequences of the actor’s political activity in an interview with “The Megyn Kelly Show.”
Kelly talked about an exclusive interview she did while she was employed at Fox News, wherein, during Trump’s presidential campaign, De Niro publicly criticized him for the first time ever.
According to Kelly, “Robert De Niro’s tirade against the former president was captured on camera exclusively.” It was the first time he had really shown how he felt about politics. And we broke that on my show when he ran against Hillary.
Kelly questioned the value of De Niro’s efforts, pointing out that the actor’s involvement did not prevent the victory in 2016. “So why does he think he can do it now if he couldn’t make any change in 2016?” she questioned.
Her comments came after De Niro’s press conference, in which he spoke of his love for the city and his worries about Trump’s potential to cause widespread destruction. “This city is incredible,” said De Niro. “I don’t want to sour it. But they’ll blow up the country and the city, and in the end, he might blow up the whole world.
Kelly’s criticism was relentless. “It’s so stupid; it was colossally stupid,” she exclaimed. Kelly’s remarks confirm her opinion that De Niro’s long history of adopting a strongly partisan stance makes him an inappropriate candidate for such a politically sensitive event.
