Mary Lou Retton, a well-known person, made history as a gymnast for Team USA in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. His remarkable vault and floor earned him the A’s gold and gold medals, cementing his place in American sports history. Later, she appeared in Wheaties cans and won the title of Female Athlete of the Year from Sports Illustrated.

Retton’s daughter McKenna Kelly just shared the heartbreaking news on her Instagram Story. The famous gymnast is currently fighting for her life in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Kelly said that her mother has a rare form of pneumonia that prevents her from breathing on her own. I have been receiving medical care from dedicated staff for almost a week.
Kelly said that Retton has a right to privacy and denied to release any information. However, she claimed that because her mother lacks insurance, the hospital bills increase rapidly.

To ease the financial burden, Kelly has set up a fund and is sincerely requesting everyone who can help raise money for the hospital bills. He requested two simple actions to be taken: adding funds to the account and praying.

In 1986, Retton gave up gymnastics, but her fame didn’t fade. She has made cameos on well-known TV shows including Baywatch and Glee, and she took part in the 27th season of Dancing with the Stars.
It’s unclear how long Retton will be in the hospital. The famous athlete who made the four girls happy was officially admitted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.
