The Spanish royalty and all you need to know about them

Because royal families are constantly the center of attention and people are always curious about their lifestyles, the media keeps a careful eye on everything they do. This is one of the reasons these families’ members are frequently featured in prestigious magazines’ headlines.

If you believe that the British Royal Family has experienced a great lot in recent years, you should know that every royalty, regardless of wealth and notoriety, struggles with personal matters.

Spain welcomed a new king in 2014. Following several scandals, King Juan Carlos abdicated, leaving Prince Felipe as the heir apparent. The former ruler’s reputation suffered greatly when he became embroiled in a corruption inquiry. He went on an elephant shooting excursion to Botswana shortly after, in 2012, which infuriated the Spanish people. King Juan Carlos made the decision to abdicate in 2014 and give Prince Felipe the throne in his place.

Felipe became the head of a monarchy even though he had two older sisters because at the time, monarchies were passed down through male lineage. Now that this rule has been altered, King Felipe’s elder daughter is now clearly the heir.

Although King Felipe is very well-liked in his native country, he was reportedly prepared to abdicate the throne out of love.

King Felipe had a very eventful upbringing. He had several opportunities to travel with his family and learned a great deal about many nations and cultures. In 1984 and 1985, he attended the Lakefield College School in Ontario, Canada, to further his studies. He had completed three years of military training at Spain’s armed forces academy before returning home. After completing this instruction, King Felipe graduated from Madrid with a degree in law and later Georgetown University in Washington, DC, with a master’s degree in international affairs.

He has put a lot of effort into trying to give his people the best care possible. Felipe represented his nation as a flag bearer and sailor in the Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

His future wife, Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, was employed as a journalist at the time he was doing all of this. She graduated with two degrees: a master’s in audiovisual journalism from the Institute for Audiovisual Journalism Studies and a bachelor’s in journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid. In Spain, Letizia rose to fame and became a well-loved figure. In addition to anchoring Telediario’s nightly news, she covered the 2000 US presidential election.

Since she initially met the future king, she has had an extremely successful career overall in her industry.

Felipe apparently wanted to see Letizia face-to-face and was able to do so by way of a common friend who happens to be a journalist. They didn’t begin dating for a few months after she gave him her number.

They didn’t tell anyone about their connection at first, but after they were seen having fun together in Felipe’s Mallorcan palace, the world found out.

They declared their engagement in 2003.

Rumor had it, though, that Felipe’s father wasn’t content with the partnership. Letizia lacked royal ancestry and was a divorcee. Juan Carlos referred to his future daughter-in-law as “the enemy within,” according to sources at the time. He advised his son to give the engagement a year’s notice and give it careful thought.

However, Felipe was prepared to go to any lengths to wed Letizia.

A member of another Royal family told Vanity Fair, “Felipe went to his father to ask permission to marry with a letter renouncing his right to the throne in his pocket.”

And he gave the letter to his father, who advised him to hold off on dating her for a year or so to be sure.

Juan Carlos was told by Felipe’s mother, “You have no choice.” The monarchy will come to an end if you don’t submit.

Leonor and Sophia, King Felipe and Queen Letizia’s two beautiful daughters, are their combined offspring.

The family makes an effort to live a typical existence. While the king dedicates his entire being to serving the people to the best of his abilities, Queen Letizia is committed to assisting youngsters in Spain in receiving an education. She also provides assistance to kids with uncommon illnesses.

The individuals in this family are really proud of them for their modest demeanor and their typical way of living.
