ST. Man Cut In Half By Forklift Shares Horrifying Photo Of Moment It Fell On Him

A man who was cut in half by a forklift has shared a horrifying photo of the moment he was crushed underneath it.
Montanan Loren Schauers was the victim of a horrific freak accident. It showed him driving a forklift truck and falling off the side of a bridge.

The 19-year-old suffered serious crushing to his lower torso and one arm after falling more than 50 feet to the ground below.

Schauers has already posted a graphic update, along with a picture showing the exact moment the forklift fell on him.

Fortunately, Schauers’ accident did not result in his death.

Hemicororectomy, a surgery in which the lower half of the body is amputated, is the procedure that saved his life.

Only 71 examples of the operation have been documented, making it incredibly rare. The National Library of Medicine states that there is an extremely high risk associated with this surgery.

Following the terrible event that permanently altered their life, Loren and his wife Sabia created a YouTube channel.

Schauers discusses life after the disaster in a Q&A session that is aired to the channel’s 600,000+ subscribers.

“Do your friends still treat you the same way they used to before the accident?” was one of the questions posed. Do some of them make you joyful, astonished, or disappointed?

Schauers said that he had been “a little disappointed” with a few of them.

“A few friends emerged from the woodwork and have shown tremendous support; others completely reverted and have become reticent,” he said.

“But it doesn’t matter to me because I have Sabia, and that’s all I need.”

“Going through this together has definitely strengthened a lot of the aspects of our relationship,” Sabia said in agreement.

“How Loren goes to the bathroom is the biggest question that has been asked since our original video,” Sabia added.

In response, Schauer continued, “A colostomy, which is my colon removed from my body so I can urinate. In addition, I have bilateral nephrostomies—tubes that enter my kidneys and empty them into bags—so that’s how I fart, urinate, and poop.

“We get questions like, ‘Does he have any private parts?'” his wife continued. His limbs are severed below the waist. If you still have questions, try searching for “hemicorporectomy” on Google.

According to the National Library of Medicine, a hemicorporectomy, commonly referred to as a “trans-lumbar amputation,” is a drastic treatment in which the body’s lower limbs are surgically removed.

This entails removing the bladder, rectum, external private parts, and bony pelvis. Usually, the process is carried out in two phases.

Schauers has not only provided this open information, but he has also lately published an awful photo of his injury.

According to The Daily Star, Loren shared a picture of the forklift mishap on Instagram that nearly resulted in his death.

He posted on social media, “If you look closely in the second photo, you can see me still pinned under the forklift.”
