No matter your age, up close encounters with wildlife are always fascinating. Ask diver Gary Grayson, who recently experienced a remarkable meeting with a gray seal in its own environment. You will fall in love with wildlife all over again after reading this touching tale.
Gary saw two gray seals while diving off the southwest coast of England, close to the Scilly Isles. One seal appeared a little timid, but the other was fearless around Gary and his diving gear. It actually seemed to be very interested in him.

The seal brushed Gary’s nose as he reached out to try and figure out what it wanted. Gary’s hand was then softly grasped by the seal, which dragged it in the direction of its stomach. It was obvious that the seal’s only desires were a belly rub and some affection.
Gary was taken aback by the encounter. He said, “I’m a skilled diver, but I’ve never seen anything like that.” “Even though I usually live on the edge, this was the most extreme thing I have ever done.”
This amazing experience demonstrates how lovable, inquisitive, and canine-like seals can be. The best way to put it was as Seal Rescue Island CEO Ally McMillan said it: “It really shows how amazing these creatures are.”

It doesn’t always take much to make a gloomy day brighter. And a gray seal did just that in this instance.
