D’Arcy and Olivia’s road toward empowerment began when they moved into a tiny house. After years of renting, they were proud to finally possess a place they could call their own.
It turned out to be a sensible and economical decision that allowed them to devote more funds to expanding their companies and providing for their son’s future.
For their family, it’s a huge difference than devoting all of their income to a mortgage or rent.
Living large in a tiny home
Their 32-foot small home has a chef-style kitchen and well-thought-out additions. It was thoughtfully built with ergonomic designs and a cozy, forest-like atmosphere.
Practicality and efficiency were the guiding principles in the selection of every component, including the propane range and the waterfall butcher block countertop.
Creative integration of storage solutions was done into the design. This include adding in-drawer dishwashers to simplify tasks and converting a corner cabinet into a chest freezer.
Their small home was designed to suit many facets of their existence. Every available space was utilized, including a cozy sleeping loft and a dedicated office area.
Their deliberate commitment to space use was demonstrated by the intelligent design decisions they made, such as the lightweight aluminum ladder that served as access to both storage and the water supply.
The design even took into account the demands of their beloved cat, Nanaimo, who has a special room designated for her.
Their design placed a strong emphasis on functionality, with each piece having several uses. Though lofts somewhat limited headroom, the living area was furnished with a pull-out couch for extra sleeping options and astutely hidden storage cabinets.
The couple was able to fit their interests and hobbies into the house in spite of its small size. A console gaming room, a dedicated video game setup, and a focus on providing a pleasant workstation underlined their commitment to not sacrificing on their pastimes.
