Our spouse may ask us a lot of questions once we get married. We don’t need to give some of those questions much attention because they will come up from time to time.
However, there are several things our spouse may ask, and our response to them will greatly influence our partnership. That includes the query posed by a wife to her husband in the joke that follows.
You have probably heard this question before and may have found it difficult to respond. You have to wonder how quickly the husband in this joke regretted his response after giving it.
“Darling, would you consider remarrying if I were to pass away?” the wife asks her husband as she turns to face him.
After pausing to think, the spouse answers, “I think I might in time. Everyone needs company in order to recover.
The wife asks, “And if I were no more, would your new wife reside in our cherished home?” with lingering curiosity.
The spouse explains, “We’ve invested much into creating the perfect home,” and nods thoughtfully. I doubt I would give it up. Indeed, she most likely would.
“Hypothetically, if you remarried and she lived here, resting in our bed, would she slumber in our very bed?” the wife adds, continuing her line of inquiry.
Her eyes meet the husband’s, “Well, our bed is fairly new—it cost us $2,000 in total. She would, indeed, as it is made to last.
With a playful twinkle in her eyes, the wife offers one last twist: “And if you remarried, would she also take up my beloved golf clubs if she inhabited our home and slept in our bed?”
There’s a chuckle in the room when the spouse responds in jest, “Ah, but there’s a catch! My sweetheart, she’s a lefty!
