An Uncommon and Outstanding Occurrence
The amazing 19-year-old mare Destiny has given birth to her second set of twins just 18 months after giving birth to her first set, despite all odds. Everyone is in awe at this incredible event, but most of all her owner, Tania MacKee of Exeter’s Gassons Farm Stud.
A One in a Million Opportunity
In a horse’s lifespan, having twins is already an uncommon event, let alone twice in a row. Tania was astounded when Destiny unexpectedly gave birth to her first pair of twins in 2018. Despite scans only showed one foal during the pregnancy, she had no idea that Destiny was going to rewrite the odds by giving birth to another set of twins.
Boost the Charm by Twofold
The second pair of foals differs greatly from the previous pair, despite their obvious similarities. Still, there’s no denying that both sets of twins are incredibly cute and cheery to be around.
Getting the Great News Out There
Tania immediately broke the wonderful news to the globe, unable to contain her delight. “Once again, our lovely mare Destiny has delivered the perfect pair of foals!” the woman posted on social media. Destiny and her two foals are in good condition and are content to explore their environment. Nothing out of the ordinary was evident at any point during the pregnancy. We are ecstatic.
Strengthening Health in a Mother
To Tania’s great relief, both foals are in good health. She is overcome with gratitude and happiness. She still finds this extraordinarily unusual occurrence fascinating, though, and longs for an explanation. “It’s genuinely surprising,” she said. “In all the years I’ve been breeding horses, I have never seen anything like this. These foals are sturdy and powerful.
The charming twins—who shall remain nameless—now live on the farm with Shockwave and Masta Blasta, their older brothers. These tiny marvels, surrounded by love and attention, never cease to amaze and delight everyone who comes to the farm.
