In “A Life on a Bus,” a couple transforms an old bus into their dream little home.
“The 1977 bus they live in has an AMAZING interior!” 
Everything began when they managed to get a 1977 California Crown bus. Its rounded edges and vintage look drew them in and gave the impression that it would be the perfect base for their dream mobile house.
It was a formidable task. Due to its curved form, the vehicle had certain unique restrictions. The entire project, which was completed with devotion, took 18 months to complete.
“That’s three to four times longer than we expected,” Erika says with a giggle. “You don’t realize how hard it is to turn a bus into a house.”
Thank goodness, they weren’t alone. The online “skoolie” community, with its extensive collection of knowledge and YouTube videos, was a tremendous help during the process.
Their 11-meter-long bus has been transformed into a bright, comfortable house that showcases Erika’s talent as an interior decorator. Her painstaking attention to detail produced a bright, practical, and charming space.
They kept the bus’s original front in order to keep the antique feel they cherished. The kitchen is a miniature piece of art in terms of usefulness despite its modest size: a clever fold-out shelf, a salvaged wood U-shaped countertop—everything is created to combine flair and functionality.
Built-in bookcases flank two windows in the cozy living space. Additional seating is provided by ottomans, and a cozy couch hides a storage space.
Finally, nestled between the living area and the bedroom is a sleek, modern bathroom. With its floor-to-ceiling tiled shower, watertight PVC vanity, and even a secretly installed outlet, it demonstrates the meticulous attention to every detail.
