A couple from Lagos, Nigeria named Stacy and Babajide, like many parents, wanted to give their beloved daughter a brother.
However, they were given a totally unexpected surprise during a regular scan.
When Stacy found out she was expecting twins, she was ecstatic, but she never could have predicted what would happen on the day of delivery.
Stacy was giddy with anticipation as she arrived at the hospital for her planned cesarean operation. She and her husband were looking forward to meeting their sons, David and Daniel Omirin. However, the couple was shocked when she first saw them.
An Uncommon View
The twins, who were born minutes apart on February 26, 2019, were instantly unique. However, their remarkable distinctions were what set them apart, not their similar large brown eyes.
Daniel looked like their older sister Demilade, with dark skin and curling black hair. Everyone was amazed by the difference, however, since David was born with light complexion and golden locks.
Both Stacy and her husband, who are of African origin, were taken aback by the stark differences in look between their twin boys.
“Until they were born, we didn’t realize they looked so different,” Stacy told Bored Panda. “When Daniel, the first twin, came out with dark hair and David, the second twin, followed with golden hair, it was a huge surprise and an unforgettable moment because the ultrasound showed nothing unusual.”
“I had them via C-section, and the doctors immediately remarked, ‘It seems you’re having completely unidentical twins,'” she continued while describing the birth. Before I knew it, nurses began visiting them for no other reason.
People are frequently perplexed by the boys’ distinctive appearance. Many people find it difficult to accept that Babajide is their father or that both of her children are hers, Stacy acknowledged.
Stacy was so ecstatic when the babies were born that she didn’t really notice how different they looked. She can still clearly recall the nurse’s response to Daniel’s arrival.
The nurse claimed that the second baby had golden hair after Daniel arrived first. How could this be possible, I wondered? I saw when I looked down
“David, he was completely white.”Stacy informed the Daily Mail.
Although Stacy was overjoyed, she wasn’t entirely certain of her husband’s reaction. Thankfully, his response made me feel better.
Their father was so impressed that he immediately dubbed David “Golden.” “He refers to him as Mr. Golden with affection,” Stacy clarified. He stood there staring at his boys for more than ten minutes, overjoyed to see them. He referred to them as the best present he had ever had and expressed his admiration at God’s magnificent creation.
Despite their strikingly different appearances, Daniel and David share the same parentage. David was born with oculocutaneous albinism, a rare genetic condition. Lack of pigmentation in the skin, eyes, and hair is the reason of the distinctive characteristics of individuals with albinism.
The Black and White Twins

Some estimates place the number of people with albinism in Nigeria at around two million, making it a sizable population. Between one in 5,000 and 15,000 people in Sub-Saharan Africa are born with albinism, according to WHO estimates. In contrast, North America and Europe have a prevalence of about one in 20,000.
Living with albinism in Nigeria might be difficult due to social discrimination and misconceptions. Thankfully, Stacy and her family have not yet encountered these challenges.
The White and Black Twins

The guys have different personalities and interests, even though they are closest friends and twins. While Daniel is outgoing and likes to eat, David would like to observe his surroundings and take in knowledge quietly. Despite their differences, both brothers share the same degree of loveability and friendliness.
The inquiry, “Excuse me, madam, which of the children is yours?” is frequently asked. I just smile and respond, “They’re both mine.” I get skeptical stares all the time. When they were born, I must admit that I was just as astonished as their mother. When the doctor told me that my twins weren’t identical, I wasn’t sure what to expect.
