During the day, when the baby cried incessantly, the desperate mother checked the onesie and was horrified by what she saw.
It all started with a shriek at dawn, as if the darkness itself had found a voice. The walls trembled and the air felt like it was going to explode from the pressure of the baby’s piercing cry. This was not only a need for maternal closeness, but an anguished scream for help.
At first, everything seemed normal. It’s common for infants to cry. But as the morning stretched into the afternoon and finally the nighttime, the sobbing persisted. Every nook and corner of the home was filled with the dreadful echo.
The exhausted mother did her best. She touched the baby’s tiny cheeks, talked tenderly, and attempted in vain to feed him. The child moaned again, arching his body in pain, this time more like a terrible beast than a helpless baby.
She decided to examine the onesie, the new one she had bought a few weeks before, out of desperation. As she unfastened it, her heart sank.
Inside the seam, hidden in the smooth cloth, something sharp and foreign glinted. She pulled her hand away as soon as she ran her fingers over it because tiny, rusty metal needles hidden deep between the seams were puncturing the baby’s delicate skin whenever he moved.
It was all clear in a moment. It was a howl of agony.
The mother looked fearfully at the little wounds and the crimson, swelling patches. She was afraid. What would happen if the metal was contaminated? If an infection has already started, what would happen?
With trembling hands, she ripped off the onesie and rushed straight out of the home to the hospital.
The doctor paled as he saw the baby’s condition. Scratches, bruises, and rust stains might have all led to serious problems. Tests to check for infections were conducted immediately after the baby was treated.
Fortunately, the wounds were shallow and there was no infection yet. Nevertheless, the pain caused by the manufacturer’s negligence could have led to disaster.
Thankfully, the mother recognized it right away and sought medical help.
