I parked my car in a parking lot today to run some errands. When I returned, I found money on the windshield under the wiper. I thought at first that a kind person had left it there.
But as soon as I realized why the money was on my car, I called the cops. I’m also telling you to be careful and never touch the money
immediately noticed something strange: cash concealed beneath the windshield wiper.
Upon closer study, I noticed it was a 50-euro note! No one was there. Why would someone leave cash on my vehicle? I was surprised.
At first, I thought that a kind stranger could want to “reward” me for anything. But for what reason? I didn’t understand, so I decided to ask a friend for advice.
“It’s likely that you are unaware of the latest scam tactic,” my anxious friend said. He continued by explaining how it works.
This strategy seems to be gaining traction across Europe, especially during the summer.
Scammers generally place a bogus banknote on a car’s windshield so the driver won’t see it until they get inside.
Naturally, people leave to pick up the “found money.” The dangerous aspect is that many people are in a hurry and forget to take out the ignition key or lock the doors.
This provides the perfect opportunity for a thief. They run up, hop in their vehicle, and drive off. In a few seconds, your car is gone.
Police warn that these “gifts” are usually counterfeit money. Scammers never put their own money at risk. If the driver doesn’t fall for it, they just wait for the next victim.
Therefore, if you ever see a banknote on your windshield, don’t get out of your car right away!Verify that the doors are secured, that you are holding the key, and that no one who might be suspicious is nearby.
