A teenager noticed a little girl sitting on the asphalt crying: he decided to approach her, but then something unexpected happened

A youngster decided to approach a young girl who was sitting on the tarmac and crying, but something unexpected happened.

Mark, who was ten years old, loved spending time at the train station. This busy, noisy part of the city seemed special to him. Most of the time, he came here by himself, but sometimes he brought friends. He liked to sit on the bench by platform three and do his homework, or just watch the trains go by and think about his next trip.

As usual, the day started off this way. Mark was getting used to his routine when he noticed something strange: a young girl sitting quite close to a lamppost on the tarmac. small, maybe four or five years old. She hugged her teddy bear tightly while ignoring everyone and sobbing bitterly.

Mark decided to approach the girl in spite of his confusion, and then something unexpected happened.

What’s bringing you to tears? Are you alone?

Without replying, the girl simply shook her head and hugged her doll more tightly. He sat down beside her:

— Are you lost? What’s your name?

She whispered, “Sara.” While she went to get tickets, Mom told me to wait here. But she hasn’t been back in a long time.

Mark frowned. He had been at the station for over half an hour and had yet to see a mother with a child.

Do you know the number to call your mother?

The girl nodded and cried as she dictated it.

Mark pulled his old button phone from his rucksack, which his parents had given him “just in case.” He hit the button. Two rings. Someone responded.

— Hello? — a worried female voice.

— Hello. I located your daughter. She is near the third platform at the station. She is sitting alone and crying.

The woman was on the verge of screaming. When I came back from a little excursion to pick up the tickets, she was gone! I’m running around the station and frantically calling security!

— She’s here. “It’s okay,” Mark said. — I’m with her.

Within minutes, the woman was there, panting, clutching her phone, and sobbing. She embraced the girl and said again, “Sweetheart, forgive me… forgive me….”

When things had calmed down a little, the woman turned to Mark:

Thank you. When I left her for a moment, she must have taken a wrong way. It’s awful. If it weren’t you Had she gone into the tracks… Thank you; you are a hero.

Mark just shrugged. He felt warm and cozy inside, despite his slight discomfort.
