A video recently became viral as soon as it was uploaded to the internet. It appears to have been taken with a phone and shows a murky water surface with a strange thing moving underneath it.
At first, everything seems normal: the waves, the splashing, the sound of the wind. Then— a long, flexible, black object slides across the frame. Fins are special, but they only exist for a short time. Too much time. Too smooth. Too dissimilar to a dolphin.
Commenters disagree with one another. Most people assume it’s just a bunch of dolphins. They write, “Not very noteworthy.” Nevertheless, someone then asked a simple question:
“Have you ever seen a dolphin with a fin that long?” It was silent.
The lovers of mystery and myth were aroused. “It might be mermaids!” they write in the comments section of the video.
Mermaids are present! We just don’t notice them! One even claims that they heard a strange tune right then and there, as if it had been carried by the wind from the sea.
Skeptics shrug, saying it’s all fiction, optical gimmicks, and light and wave tricks.
One thing is still known, though: just around 10% of the ocean has been visited by people.
Maybe these were dolphins, but strange ones. or a marine creature that science is unable to comprehend. Or is it, as youngsters, the very thing we were told not to believe in but had read about in fairy tales?
There is still no answer. The video keeps getting views, yet the riddle is still unresolved. Whether we trust in science, chance, or the secrets hidden beneath the ocean’s surface is a personal choice.
