My neighbor buried his old fridge in the ground: we were all shocked by this scene

My neighbor is a really skilled handyman. Anything that breaks in their house is fixed by him. His wife often complains that they never buy new appliances since her husband always fixes the old ones.

Recently, I was walking past his yard when I noticed something strange. The top of an old refrigerator stuck out of the floor. I stopped and stared at this picture for a while, trying to figure out why someone would bury a refrigerator in the ground.

In all honesty, I couldn’t think of a logical reason for such a behavior.

I was so intrigued that I made the quick decision to ask my neighbor a question. He merely asked me to look more closely while grinning.

With satisfaction, he declared, “This is my new cellar.”

In actuality, he buried the refrigerator, leaving only the lid above the ground. He now stores apples and other fruits and vegetables inside.

“The ground stays cold all year long,” he explained. It is therefore the best place to store food.

I was amazed at his inventiveness. Who would have thought that a broken refrigerator might be used to create a mini-cellar? With my newfound understanding of obsolete equipment, I might as well give it a go.

What are your thoughts on this idea?
