Some people might be worried about keeping a dog close to a helpless, small child, especially if the breed is known to be “aggressive.”
Pit bulls are probably the most unstable and sometimes aggressive of this category due to their notoriety.
One California mother, however, credits her cherished pit bull with helping her and her child survive.
Mom Latana Chai claims that her daughter Masailah and her cherished dog Sasha were born a few days apart. They share a bed and even take a bath together, and they spend every moment together.
However, their bond was about to deepen when a fire broke out in their neighbor’s home.
Around midnight on a Saturday, Latana noticed that Sasha was behaving strangely.
“I heard a big bang and thought, ‘What’s going on?'” I could hear Sasha sobbing as she continued to jump at the door. Latana said, “As soon as I got to the door, she runs in and starts barking,” according to Kare 11.
The baby’s bedroom is where the pit bull was found.
When she opened the door to let Sasha in, she rushed to Masailah’s room. Then she noticed that black smoke was coming from the ceiling and that the fire was advancing from their neighbor’s house to theirs.
When Mom Latana rushed to her baby’s room, Sasha was dragging Masailah to safety by the diaper.
Sasha’s early warning barks are credited by the family for keeping them safe.
