I think one of the greatest and funniest sitcoms ever produced is Curb Your Enthusiasm. What’s so great about Curb is the relationship between Larry David and Cheryl Hines.
These two possess an equal amount of sharp repartee and intense romantic suspense compared to any late-night legal drama or police procedural.
Before becoming well-known on television, Cheryl spent years honing her acting craft. More recently, however, her union with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and her encounter with Fidel Castro, have drawn attention.

She was brought up as a Catholic and was born in Miami Beach, Florida, on September 21, 1965. She later moved to Tallahassee. Cheryl, her sister, and her two brothers were all expected to go to college and succeed, even if their financial situation was poor.
Cheryl has always had a passion for acting, and she was involved in the Young Actors Theatre her whole high school career. Looking back, Cheryl claimed that her father James Hines was largely responsible for her comedic abilities.
I believe it was he who introduced me to comedy and the meaning of humor for the first time. “He was quick-witted with his own set of phrases and made us laugh until the very end,” Cheryl remarked when her father passed away in 2015.
After earning her degree in acting from the University of Central Florida, she relocated to Los Angeles. However, it wasn’t simple for the youthful, aspirational Tallahassee actress. She earned a living as a waitress, television reporter, and telephone operator prior to her big break in Hollywood.
She also served as Rob Reiner’s personal assistant for a short while.
Cheryl was living through a period of Hollywood cynicism firsthand. One female boss even went so far as to suggest that she “get a boob job” since she would not be competitive in the profession if she didn’t.
“I didn’t think it was necessary, and I hadn’t given it much thought at the time,” the woman said. Once home, I started to wonder if my breast size had anything to do with my admiration for these women. Cheryl told Yahoo something like, “Goldie Hawn doesn’t have big ones.”
In the end, Cheryl decided against having surgery since she didn’t think she was “dying to be on Baywatch.”
Cheryl’s career truly took off when she began performing in skits and improvised comedy at The Groundlings Theater.
Lisa Kudrow, who plays Pheobe in the television series Friends, was a member of the comedy group Groundlings and also acted as Cheryl’s first tutor. It was there that Cheryl learned a great deal about improvisation and funny sketch writing. It was an excellent school.
Learning About Larry David
Cheryl’s television experience prior to Curb Your Enthusiasm consisted of small parts and cameos on programs like Swamp Thing and Unsolved Mysteries.
It would be an understatement to say that Cheryl was unknown in Hollywood when Larry David arrived. He was looking for a “unknown actress” to play his wife on TV.
Although being cast as “Cheryl” in the popular sitcom changed her life, Cheryl was ignorant of Larry’s identity in 2000.
“So, what is that guy’s age?”I enquired. Isn’t he not that old?She remembered before she’d met the 75-year-old Larry.
The audition was a total disaster as well. Before Cheryl came, the casting director gave her a strange heads-up.
Don’t come in contact with Larry. In her opening remarks, the casting director mentioned that Larry was not fond of being touched and that the show was supposed to have a documentary-style feel to it. She said, “So if it feels fake at any point, the audition will be over. And here’s Larry.”
Thank goodness Cheryl did a fantastic job. Larry made the proper choice because her character in the show was expertly portrayed by the “unkown actrees.”
Curb Your Enthusiasm uses a lot of spontaneous speech. Every actor in the play must improvise to create the conversation on the fly, despite the loose plot or framework.
When I started watching the episodes (which has been a while), I totally forgot that Cheryl was an actress; it’s easy to think that she’s Larry’s wife.
It seems that there were other people who were also a little confused.
When the show was aired, Cheryl recalled, “people in Tallahassee thought, ‘Well, maybe Cheryl got married.”
Sadly, despite Cheryl having starred in more than 100 episodes of the show, she and Larry are no longer together. Her character splits up with Larry in season eight. She later began dating Ted Danson, one of Larry’s friends.
In August 2022, HBO made the decision to renew the program for a twelfth season.
Robin together with Cheryl Williams
Cheryl, who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2014, has worked on a number of projects throughout her time on Curb. She has acted in a number of films, including the road comedy RV, in which the late Robin Williams costarred.
In her first feature film, RV, Cheryl played a frustrated woman stuck to a dilapidated camper while on a family vacation.
In 2006, Cheryl told The Tallahassee Democrat, “I don’t think my friends bought into my claim that Robin Williams and I would be costarring.” “Oh my gosh, you’re in the whole thing,” they screamed after watching the teasers.
Like many others, Cheryl was amazed by Williams’s kindness and compassion. Despite being the lead character in the film, he interacted with Cheryl and all the other actors on the set.
“Robin showed such kindness.” Cheryl said, “The instant I met him, he hugged me and told me he adored the guys from “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
Lemonade with Fidel Castro
Naturally, Cheryl has had other encounters with mega-celebrities than Robin Williams. She says that Barbra Streisand did Running Charades at her house, and she is friends with famous writer Nick Hornby.
Cheryl also enjoys playing poker, and she has won $50,000 before. Did she ever offer Fidel Castro a glass of lemonade when he was staying in Cuba?
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2022, Cheryl stated, “This was probably ten years ago.”
My spouse also wanted to check whether we might visit Mr. Castro while we were there. El Presidente will see you, the man in the white linen suit and cap said when we arrived at the hotel, and a van came to take us upstairs, according to Cheryl.
The marriage of a Kennedy
Cheryl’s first husband was a manager and producer named Paul Young. The couple got married in 2002, and their daughter, Catherine Rose Young, was born in 2004.
But after seven years of marriage, Cheryl and Paul decided to call it quits and file for divorce. According to Cheryl, they have remained close friends and have continued to work together on set since their breakup.
“Larry David was my first husband because when I started doing ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ I was single and had never been married before,” she joked on Fox News.
“I married Paul Young after that, and then Robert F. Kennedy Jr.”
A year after her first divorce, Cheryl started dating environmental lawyer and author Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Cheryl’s husband is the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy’s son and the nephew of President John F. Kennedy.
“Our moral principles are comparable. first household. Cheryl said, “We like to work hard and have a good time,” when they first met.
Cheryl met Robert F. Kennedy Jr. through her husband Larry David, a television personality on occasion.
Hines said, “He introduced us—just because we were at the same event,” in a podcast.
We’ve been married for eight years, so Larry stated afterwards, “That’s a terrible idea.” Stay out of it.
The actress from Curb Your Enthusiasm married Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in 2014. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Larry David were among the 300 guests who attended the ceremony at the Kennedy compound on Cape Cod.
Since they met and fell in love, Cheryl has talked about how her world has improved. She is astounded by how many lives Kennedy and his distinguished family have touched.
Cheryl and her family have found enormous meaning in Bobby and his family’s contributions to our country, human rights, and democracy, she said. “In essence, someone will approach Bobby while crying and say,” she said.
Her husband, though, has recently faced backlash for some extremely divisive comments he made during a demonstration opposing vaccine regulations.
But we have a decent notion of what she might have looked like based on how she appeared in Suburgatory. In one of the episodes, Dallas Royce decides to have too much botox for comedic effect. The actress’s silicone lips, cheeks, and forehead give her a scary appearance.
Fortunately, she was able to revert to her normal self after listening to the tapes.
Cheryl is currently a permanent member of the I Can See Your Voice panel. It will be interesting to see what she comes up with next, but I’m sure we’ll be seeing her on TV for years to come!
And is it just me, or is Cheryl maturing like a fine wine? I’m grateful for every memory you’ve created and I hope the future brings you luck!
