Halo brows: New beauty trend is playful and loopy

There is no denying that eyebrows are the ultimate playground for beauty. You can see a wide range of brow trends on social media, including fishtail patterns, Nike swooshes, and unicorn horns.

But just when you thought you had seen it all, the conversation was interrupted by the oddball new halo brows.

Halo brows, like many other strange cosmetic fads, are a product of the wonderfully peculiar world of social media. Trends that defy conventional standards of beauty have found their ideal home on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.

Hannah Lyne, a 16-year-old influencer from Britain, invented halo brows, which are a halo-like arc across your forehead that joins both brows into one loop. Her new doodles went viral almost immediately.

Lyne comments the Instagram photo in which she presents the style that left others both intrigued and perplexed, saying, “So me and [a friend] were talking about the fishtail brow trend & then we came up with this.”

The beauty blogger clarified in an interview with Pop Sugar that the “look was influenced by fishtail brows” and that it wasn’t a joke.

She explained, “I was talking to a friend about trying to think of a new look when it suddenly occurred to me that I should connect my brow tails.”

In an interview with Yahoo Style, Lyne went on to say, “I just want people to embrace being silly and doing weird, creative looks!”

“Ridiculous” trend

Like many other social media-born trends, halo brows generated a wide range of opinions.

Several Instagram users appeared to adore the design and complimented Lyne’s inventiveness: One user says, “I love it!” while another writes, “All of your styles are very original…Your talent is truly limitless!

Without question, eyebrows are the ultimate beauty playground. On social media, you can spot a variety of brow trends, such as unicorn horns, Nike swooshes, and fishtail patterns.

However, the strange new halo brows interrupted the talk just when you thought you had seen everything.

Like a lot of other odd cosmetic trends, halo brows are a result of the incredibly weird world of social media. Platforms like Instagram and TikTok have become the perfect place for trends that go against traditional notions of beauty.

Halo brows, a halo-like arc across your forehead that unites both brows into a single loop, were created by 16-year-old British influencer Hannah Lyne. Her fresh doodles quickly became popular.

“So me and [a friend] were talking about the fishtail brow trend & then we came up with this,” Lyne writes in a comment on the Instagram picture where she displays the look that left many both curious and confused.

In an interview with Pop Sugar, the beauty blogger explained that the “look was influenced by fishtail brows” and that it wasn’t a joke.

“I was trying to think of a new look with a friend when it suddenly occurred to me that I should connect my brow tails,” she revealed.

“I just want people to embrace being silly and doing weird, creative looks!” Lyne continued in an interview with Yahoo Style.

The “ridiculous” trend

Halo brows sparked a variety of reactions, much like many previous social media-born trends.

A number of Instagram users seemed to love the design and praised Lyne’s creativity: Another person writes, “All of your styles are very original,” while another says, “I love it!”You have absolutely boundless talent!

“How on earth do you come up with ideas? They’re incredibly creative, and you always do them so brilliantly!A third says, “You have extraordinary talent.”

However, most internet users quickly referred to the updated Unibrow as a “ridiculous” trend.

On Lyne’s Instagram photo, one person writes, “Vomits Uncontrollably.” “I don’t know if she’s kidding,” replies a second, while a third writes, “Instagram? More correct is Instaregret.

Others, on the other hand, claimed that she appeared “ridiculous” and that they were “deleting Instagram because of this photo.”

According to Cosmopolitan, the “heavenly halo brows” were “remarkably lovely.”

The article says, “Get ready to meet the unconventional, yet gorgeous work of arch,” in reference to the looped eyebrows.

Whether they have one or two eyebrows, it’s fun to see makeup artists try out different styles, even if you don’t like the way they look.

What are your thoughts on the halo eyebrows? Would you rather get your brows waxed or pluck? Let us know what you think, and then share this article with your friends so we can hear from them as well!
