“My stuff’s going to sag and fall, and I will be fine. My chest is gonna do what it does. I can age the way I age.”

Actress Whoopi Goldberg gained notoriety for her parts in a number of highly regarded movies, including “Sister Act” and “Ghost.” She is well-known on television as well because she co-hosted the much-liked daytime chat show “The View.”

Whoopi Goldberg’s responsibilities as a mother, grandmother, and even great-grandmother are what matter most in her life. Her family is her greatest accomplishment, despite the success her Hollywood job has afforded her.

The 67-year-old Goldberg makes no effort to hide her age, nor does she seem to be upset by the constant discussion of it. She continues to provide happiness and amusement to others despite the thoughts of some regarding her age and appearance.

Criticism is nothing new to Goldberg. She had to deal with some early in her career who made assumptions about her appearance, especially her hair.

She said that previous producers would pick at her hair and ask stern questions about what they could do with it. She would get so irritated that she would grasp one of their hands and ask them to stop fiddling with her hair.

Though Goldberg had simply protected herself from criticism, she soon understood that her actions had angered others, which made her unhappy.

She was fortunate to have a mentor during her trying moments. She claimed that one of the few African Americans to achieve success in Hollywood in the 1960s, actor Sidney Poitier, was someone she frequently looked up to and sought counsel from.

Dedicated to Family Above All unions
Goldberg has had a long and prosperous career in the entertainment industry spanning several decades. She is also a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She has three previous marriages. In 1973, she got married to Alvin Martin for the first time, and the two had a daughter. This was not Goldberg’s longest marriage, although it did last six years.

In 1986, following their divorce, she wed David Claessen. Nevertheless, the marriage was short-lived. After that, she wed Lyle Trachtenberg from 1994 to 1995, but their marriage dissolved soon after.

Despite being married to several individuals, Goldberg acknowledged that she had never truly loved any of them and had only gotten married because she believed marriage would provide her with a “much normal” existence.

Goldberg said that her commitment to her family has increased. She feels that having a strong commitment to your partner and being in love are essential for a happy marriage, but she learned this lesson too late with her previous husbands.

However, she has discovered that a strong dedication to one’s spouse and a readiness to resolve conflicts amicably are necessary for a marriage to succeed. She continued, saying:

“Getting married is not a good excuse. It’s necessary to genuinely desire a life together despite ups and downs. And I recently realized that wasn’t for me.

Even though her marriage may not have worked out, the well-known actress is still a powerful, self-reliant woman who has had a big impact on society.

Having Fun and Laughing Despite Criticisms
Goldberg embraces the beauty of aging while remaining strong in the face of criticism. She refuses to let criticism from the internet get to her down, and she embraces her 67 years as a badge of honor.

While acknowledging the passing of time with grace, Goldberg isn’t afraid to impart her wit and insight about the benefits and drawbacks of growing older. She made fun of herself in a YouTube video for being a “Lil’ old lady.”

She acknowledged that having “swollen feet” was one of the obvious indicators that she was getting older. She takes care of her great-grandchildren as well as her household pets and cats despite her advanced age.

During a “The View” broadcast, the seasoned actress also talked about her graying hair. She revealed to her co-hosts that she now has some gray strands mixed in with her mostly black hair.

She accepts the gray hairs and doesn’t mind allowing them to grow rather than trying to hide them. She said she usually puts her hair up, so her graying hair didn’t seem to show.

Goldberg has been able to age gracefully without public scrutiny because to her evolving dress sense, something that many other Hollywood stars are not as fortunate to be able to do. She acknowledged:

“I didn’t experience the same issues that a stunning actress does. I don’t need to be concerned about it. My belongings will tumble and sag, but that’s okay. My thoracic cavity will do what it does. I am in control of how I age.

In their funny self-help book “Two Old Broads,” Goldberg and her co-author M.E. Hecht explore the process of aging. The book exhorts readers to remain self-assured, accept themselves as they are, and love their age.

In addition, Goldberg claims that the book embraces the notion that, in spite of social stigmas, older people may and need to have meaningful and active sexual lives.

She went on to say that the message of the book is for everyone who is sick of being told who they should be and that it should be enjoyed in everything that life has to offer.

Goldberg is happy with her age and current state of affairs. But not everyone, especially those on social media, has the same upbeat view as her.

The remarks left by other users on a June 2022 Instagram video she uploaded about the Italy Run, a New York event, served as evidence of this. A netizen made note of how “old” she appeared.

In the video, Goldberg held her phone and stood in front of a tree while sporting a white button-down shirt. Regretfully, more online users commented negatively on the actress’s appearance.

She should give up on her job, one sardonic Instagram user remarked. Another commenter then mirrored the statement, calling Goldberg a “dumb witch.”

Additionally, some individuals took issue with another of Goldberg’s Instagram pictures. In one image, which was posted in December 2020, Goldberg was seen posing in a long dress and flaunting her white hair.

With a wooden staff in her right hand, she stood before the parched trees. Another disgruntled user posted a negative comment.

Even after hearing critical remarks, Goldberg didn’t seem to care. The Hollywood A-lister has not answered any critics, but several admirers have commended her for being authentic.

She said in the caption merely that the picture was taken for the TV show “The Stand,” in which she starred. She complimented the staff on her amazing haircut.

Goldberg has persevered as a positive and significant force in the entertainment industry and beyond, despite facing obstacles in her personal and professional life.

The well-known performer is a brilliant example of fortitude, tenacity, and the ability to laugh and enjoy life even in the face of hardship.
