As they tidy the table together after supper, Tom gives Lily a warm embrace and squeezes her firmly. “You know, Lily, I’m so glad you feel at ease sharing things like this with me,” he says quietly. I may occasionally make fun of you, but know that no matter what, I’ll always be here for you.
