Joe Whale, a nine-year-old from Shrewsbury, England, is all too familiar with that sensation. Regardless of how many times his teacher reprimanded him, he loved to doodle in class. However, Joe’s parents chose to accept and encourage his artistic impulses rather than discourage him from doing so. And it proved to be a wise choice!
Joe’s aptitude was soon discovered. Kerry, his teacher at the after-school art program, was astounded by his innate talent. She was in disbelief at what she was seeing. Joe’s pen drawings have perfect balance in addition to being accurate and faultless. Kerry was so impressed that she immediately promoted him into a higher class.

Joe’s teacher posted his work on Instagram rather quickly. And what do you know? “Number 4,” a nearby establishment, noticed! Requesting permission to hang the young artist’s sketches on the restaurant walls, the owner went up to Joe’s teacher. Joe was ecstatic about this chance, as was his father Greg. They used to go to the restaurant after school so Joe could draw and paint his artwork onto the walls.
Joe’s father said with pride, “Joe is a talented little boy.” In addition to being an excellent student, he plays cricket and football really well. But his greatest interest is undoubtedly sketching. Joe used to doodle on the whiteboard at the table out of irritation at not having enough possibilities for creative expression. But Joe was able to turn his love of painting into a career because to “Number 4’s” open invitation.
“We are incredibly grateful that our nine-year-old son was approached by a stand-alone business to present his professional work. Greg said, “We are tremendously pleased of what he has accomplished.
