It is really horrifying to witness an animal that has been harmed and deceived by the people it most trusted in the world.
Regretfully, animal abuse and neglect occur on a daily basis all around the world, and countless of animals end up in shelters where they wait to be given the second shot at life that they so richly deserve.
One such shelter is Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control (CMACC) in North Carolina, which Sarah Sleime frequently volunteers there. She is therefore accustomed to witnessing shattered, hopeless creatures that are waiting for their forever home.
But when she encountered Cinnamon, a Pit Bull who always seemed to have tears in her eyes when Sarah passed by, even she was completely taken aback.
However, what she would discover about Cinnamon’s background would drive her to the brink.
Cinnamon turned out to be 7 years old, and it appeared that her previous owners had exploited her as a breeding dog.
Sarah wrote: “Someone dumped this poor mama at the shelter, minus her babies” in a Facebook post. Her eyes would well up with tears every time I would stop to talk to her and apologize (see her reaction at -:13). Truly devastating!
Sarah quickly realized that she needed to take action, so she posted a video to Cinnamon with the intention of drawing attention to her situation.
Her video became viral very quickly after it was posted. There was an endless stream of well-wishers for Cinnamon, and many wanted to adopt her.
Sarah was overjoyed to learn from a friend that she intended to give the dog a forever home.

Megan Shelton declared to The Dodo, “I love pit bulls with all of my heart.” They’re a misunderstood breed and a very misunderstood dog, in my opinion.
And I started crying when I watched her on that video, genuinely crying within a cage. My children sobbed. My spouse suggested we may go have a look at her tomorrow once I showed him.
It didn’t take Cinnamon long to win Megan over. When they first met, her tail was actually constantly wagging.
Dogs are compassionate animals that feel our happiness and sadness, but they typically link emotional sobbing with people.

Sarah recorded the interaction on camera and posted it to her Facebook page as well.
Cinnamon’s tears had vanished, and were replaced by an uncontrollable exhilaration.
The only thing left to do was see if the two dogs would be able to get along and coexist as the Shelton family also had a three-year-old Pit Bull named Blu.
Blu and Cinnamon, who the Sheltons would subsequently name Rosie, got along like a house on fire, to put a nice bow on the whole thing. Rosie found a devoted home, and the Sheltons were truly blessed with a unique dog.
Have a peek at that contented tail!
What a wonderful tale. We’re overjoyed that Cinnamon/Rosie had the second opportunity she so much wanted!
Sleieme and all others impacted by Cinnamon are overjoyed with how everything worked out!
If given the proper conditions to develop, all dogs can make devoted companions. We believe that no dog should ever be thrown out just because they are no longer useful.
