Man Pens Touching Tribute To Neighbor Who Taught Him To Be A Father

Families are not formed through blood. It doesn’t demonstrate affection, hard effort, or morals. We develop into the people we will be through connections, encounters, and time.Families are made up of those who cherish and care for us, who make educational investments in us, and who mentor us.

Cody Shugard just posted a picture of Mr. Chip, his longtime neighbor and friend, cradling his son on his social media page.Shugard wrote a heartfelt tribute to Mr. Chip describing how he influenced the kind of man, father, and son Shugard is now.

Here is his heartfelt eulogy:

Therefore, this image is popular. I wanted to take a moment to share the story with you. My boyhood neighbors were Milton West and me. Mr. Chip is how I knew him. As an operator, he left DOW Chemical. Since the age of two, he has always been there for me. It was never easy for me to grow up without a father. But the good Lord surrounded me with outstanding men, Mr. Chip included. He repeatedly emphasized the need of education, showed me how to maintain a yard, taught me to appreciate people for who they are rather than what they seem like, taught me how to treat my mother with respect, and taught me a variety of other life skills. His support helped me greatly in being a good son, man, and father.
God brought him into my life, and I will always be grateful.
So, my wife and I welcomed Bob Wayne Shugart into the world in May of last year. When Mr. Chip and his wife Shirley first met him, they immediately fell in love. We visit him when we can, and they occasionally watch him. Mr. Chip stated that he wanted to be nicknamed “POP” on our most recent visit. His grandson, according to him. Therefore, we needed a name for his wife. Lolli is the choice we made.
We inform Bob Wayne that we will be seeing Lolli Pop as a result! I appreciate Lolli and Pop being a part of my son’s life. He will grow into a wonderful kid, man, and parent if he learns from Mr. Chip half as much as I did.

Every day I read about how racial relations are at an all-time low. I disagree, and I hope that many people will take this to heart as a kind message. In tiny Victoria, Texas, there are many stories like this one. In the United States, I’m sure there are millions of stories like this.

We adore this lovely tale about love, acceptance, and family! Tell us in the comments if you agree and adore it.
