Maybe you’ve all heard about the veterans’ discount. Thanks to the men and women who serve in the police force, our society is safe and orderly.
Despite having one of the most difficult and important jobs in our country, many people feel they are underpaid.
A KFC restaurant in Ohio just made the decision to join the trend. The store’s posting of the sign resulted in a number of responses online.

The store’s general policy was to offer free dining to anyone wearing a uniform, no matter the time of day. The initial thought was to give the local police officers a discount on the chicken. In the end, this new regulation was about to get more attention online.
When this picture was posted on the Ohio Going Blue Facebook page, many arguments were sparked.
There were numerous opinions despite the post receiving over 10,000 likes and 6000 shares.

The necessity of making this offer to police was questioned by commenters. According to some comments, officers would prefer not to receive special treatment and would rather pay for it themselves. Facebook page administrators’ comments:
Despite the fact that this is a positive topic, some of you can’t see the big picture. I never enter a place as an officer expecting ANYTHING to be free, whether I’m in uniform or not. There are other cops who share your sentiments. We object to “special treatment”. The post was made because KFC is thanking law enforcement, which is the reason why. To the individuals who said that other first responders should also be recognized. My reply? ABSOLUTELY.”
Despite receiving a lot of media attention, the sign will stay up in the shop.

Let this sign serve as a compliment to the cops who put their lives in danger, letting them know how much we value their work.
